There are several components to participating in the SAFE-T fellowship:
-Required coursework
-Capstone project
-Participation in the SAFE-T/PRI-Care Integrated Care Forum

Coursework:
MAT Elective: Evidence Based Integrated Care with MAT (ANPS/CNSL/SW 8045, 2 credits) Interprofessional Elective: Integrated Behavioral Healthcare (SW/CNSL 8005 or ANPS 8009, 1 credit) Serving At-Risk Youth*: Counseling Children & Adolescents (CNSL 8014, 3 credits) or Child Mental Health (SW 8002, 2 credits) or Clinical Psychiatric Diagnostics and Management of Children (ANPS 8014, 3 credits) *For this category, fellows will take only the course offered in their respective program (e.g., Counseling-CNSL 8014; Social Work-SW 8002; Nursing-ANPS 8014) |
Capstone Project:
Students will select a project focusing on a specific aspect of education and/or promotion of integrated community health wellness, emphasizing culturally appropriate care and the connection between behavioral and physical health.
-Emphasis on OUD and SUD prevention and treatment.
-Carried out collaboratively in student groups with each group having a minimum of two disciplines.
-Presented in poster format during annual integrative forum conference or equivalent.

Safe-T/PRI-Care Integrated Care Forum
-10 hour commitment
-Students will plan, implement, and attend an integrated care forum in the spring
-Forum is focused on:
1. Education and/or promotion of integrated community health wellness
2. Emphasizing culturally appropriate care
3. The connection between behavioral and physical health
-Students will also have opportunities to present their integrated care experiences in a poster and/or panel

You and your mentor will meet at least 3 times during internship and will be matched based on mutual interests.

Agency Training Components
-Interprofessional case conference presentations
-Family sessions and/or case conferences with attending family members
-Identify a student or client at risk of engaging in harmful behaviors (OUD and SUD) and implement prevention, counseling, or treatment intervention
-Facilitate involvement with a client's primary care physician and/or be involved with information sharing between primary care providers and the field placement agency

academic performance, complete the SAFE-T Fellowship checklist, and fill out an evaluation
